Reachout Centre Trust (RCT) always supports Probation Case Committee Meeting which brings together various government departments alongside civil society organizations who are members of such an able committee. The purpose of the meeting being to share the experiences and challenges facing the probation practitioners, set standards and also supervise, resettle, reintegrate and rehabilitate offenders serving various non-custodial sentences in the community.
There are plans for Reachout with the help of other members of the committee to help children in schools who use drugs and help their families understand them more. This system involves early identification of the children using drugs or being used to traffic drugs.
RCT through the Director- Taib Abdulrahman urged that there is necessity for offenders serving non-custodial sentences to be given a second chance by going to rehabilitation and also extends his gratitude to all the stakeholders and the committee in particular for the continuous deliberations in ensuring justice on alternative case prosecution on drug related offences especial on people who use drugs in Mombasa.
